El Salvador: Where Childhood Runs Free

On a sunny morning in La Libertad, El Salvador, Miss World joined the “Let’s Play with Lula” project led by First Lady Gabriela de Bukele. The mission? To reinforce something every child deserves: the right to play freely, safely, and with joy in public spaces.

Normalizing every child’s right to play

At the heart of it all is Lula, a puppet turned national symbol of early childhood development. Each month, the Lula project transforms a new corner of El Salvador with music, storytelling, puppet shows, art, books, and kiting, igniting creativity and connection for thousands of children. What may look like fun and games is, in fact, a strategic movement to put play back at the center of learning and childhood itself.
